Many things we do on a regular basis can contribute to stained teeth. Smoking cigarettes and drinking beverages like coffee, tea, and red wine can discolor the teeth. Tooth whitening (or bleaching) is a simple, non-invasive dental treatment used to whiten and brighten the natural tooth enamel, making it an ideal way to enhance the beauty of your smile.
Danforth Dental offers three great options for achieving a whiter smile.
1) Zoom!® Teeth Whitening
A fast and popular method for teeth whitening is Zoom!®. It is safe, effective and efficient. Our clinician will apply the Zoom!® whitening gel designed to be used specifically with the Zoom!® Light. The light and gel work together to gently penetrate our teeth, breaking up the stains and discoloration. The gel is applied in fifteen minute sessions for a total treatment time of 45 minutes. Finally, you will go home with a brigher, whiter smile. So we can ensure a continuous whiter smile, Danforth Dental provides you with take home custom bleaching trays at no additional expense.
2) Take Home Custom Bleaching Trays
This option we offer also will whiten teeth dramatically. During your first appointment, we’ll take detailed impressions (molds) of your teeth. These will be used to create customized clear plastic trays.
During your second appointment, you will try on the trays and adjustments will be made to ensure a comfortable fit. We will give you instructions for using the whitening solution. The trays are worn with special whitening solution either twice a day for 30 minutes or overnight for a couple of weeks depending on the degree of staining and desired level of whitening. It is normal to experience tooth sensitivity when whitening your teeth, but this usually subsides shortly after the treatment is complete. Since the whitening solution only works on natural tooth enamel, we will evaluate whether any old fillings or crowns will need to be replaced after bleaching is complete so that they match the newly whitened teeth.
Tooth whitening is not permanent. Minor touch-up may be needed every few years to maintain your bright white smile.

3) Tréswhite Take Home Non-Custom Trays
Tréswhite is the most economical way of safely whitening your teeth. A gel-impregnated stock tray system is administered over a 10 day period. No appointment is necessary.
